Microblading, it's not for everyone

Is Microblading OK for me?

This is a question that pops up a lot. Is Microblading ok for me?

As with any treatment, there are many contraindications that we need to consider.

Different skin types react differently to the pigment, so it may be that it's not not suitable, we just need to manage expectations.

Someone with pre-existing skin conditions such as eczema or dermatitis may not hold the Microblading pigment well. These types of conditions usually see a faster shedding and renewal rate, which would mean that over time, the Microblading will fade and become dull a lot quicker than someone without these conditions.

I have found that people with oilier based skin are more likely to see fading of the pigment quite quickly, due to the oils pushing the Microblading pigments out of the skin. Also, the Microblading strokes tend to blur a little more, not always leaving completely crisp hair strokes like we are aiming for.

Skin medications such as Retinol and Accutane for acne prone skin, can effect the Microblading healing results, as well as any oral medications which could change your blood consistency or ability to heal. So before you book in for your Microblading treatment, I will ask you to complete a medical form to check that Microblading is safe for you.
